The Middle East is an area where vehicle is king and fuel is cheap, frequently leaving little incentive to find more of moving around.

But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have pushed up the rate of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.

In an area that has among the highest carbon footprints on the planet, one organization is taking benefit of the growing pressure to discover alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving lucrative too, currently their client-list consists of McDonald's.
