The Middle East is a region where automobile is king and fuel is low-cost, often leaving little incentive to find more environmentally-friendly methods of walking around.
But this year, as protests across the Middle East have actually pushed up the cost of oil, the problem of discovering alternative sources of fuel has entered into sharp focus.
In a region that has one of the highest carbon footprints worldwide, one business is benefiting from the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving profitable too, already their contains McDonald's.
