Blue Northern Energy Acquires Quicksilver Biodiesel Technology

Blue Northern Energy is revitalizing the biodiesel industry. BNE's mission is to produce a sustainable and successful biofuel production market throughout the United States. BNE combines the newest technology advances, refining processes and innovative minds to establish sustainable and profitable biodiesel production facilities. BNE offers assistance and services to companies and communities in their undertakings to develop new biodiesel production centers or retrofitting existing centers to make them sustainable and successful. Through its work and competence BNE, identifies itself as the leader in the field.

Blue Northern Energy (BNE) has obtained a special innovation for producing biodiesel fuel. The Quicksilver Biodiesel Technology (QSB) is a constant biodiesel production procedure by the trans-esterification of veggie oils. Multiple feedstocks might be used, enabling the most affordable expense feedstocks to be utilized. The ability to customize the procedure constantly, as the feedstocks change by modulating the other reactants to the process instead of changing batch dishes, makes it a highly versatile and more effective process. The process likewise permits a decrease in capital cost of as much as 40% and a reduction in running cost through lower energy expense of up to 30%. These benefits of the innovation have been verified through a 3rd party evaluation completed by the Center for Process Innovation.

The QSB technology has been thoroughly tested at the pilot plant in Budapest, Hungary. Feedstocks from Europe in addition to the USA have been demonstrated, both individually along with blends.

Developing and improving the innovation is a high priority for BNE, and basic to our global growth strategies. In order to support this, BNE will be developing a new Innovation Center situated next to the very first biodiesel plant in Newton, Illinois. The center will have the capability to demonstrate future feedstock processing and perform comprehensive fuel quality measurements for BNE plants and experimental samples.

It is the administrator of the BN National Trail center from conceptualization, development, construction to management. This facility exhibits the advanced technology of BNE and production process that made use of multiple crops, edible and non-edible, for sustainable, high quality and profitable biodiesel production.

BNE's staff will increase to support this innovation program. A senior chemical process specialist will be brought on board to perform mass and energy balance calculations and create the chemical process for sophisticated feedstocks.
